Deb Moreland: Favorite 5 Mile Route

Training has been going fairly well for me. I must admit that I slipped in training a bit over the 4th of July weekend. But, I am determined to make up for it this week! The following is my favorite 5 mile route (it is quite hilly with beautiful views at the top of the hills):

Five Mile Route From Shelter 3 in Plamann Park
Start in parking lot next to shelter. Exit park left on Apple Creek Rd., Turn left onto EE (Ballard) and then turn right onto Hwy E about 1/2 mile facing traffic in the bike lane. You will see the new YMCA on your right and you are turning left onto Apple Hill Blvd. Left on Purdy, right on Highpond Crossing (seriously these names??) Right onto Smoke Tree Pass and left onto Apple Hill Blvd. Take a left onto Ballard (EE) and then right onto Broadway. Turn into Plamann Park by the pool and take an immediate right. Follow the road to the "Far" sign turn right. Take the whole loop and then right at the STOP sign, down the big hill, back up it and right on the road that leads to shelter 3.
